It was late January. The Florida State Women were having a great season and playing at Duke. That night, nothing went right. The Seminoles lost by 30 points. Blown out of Cameron Indoor!

Was this it?  Would Florida State make any more noise in the ACC race?

When you lose like that, a team can go one of two ways- it can lose confidence and head down the path of mediocrity or it can use that loss as motivation. The latter has happened to Florida State.

That 30-point loss has changed the team - for the better.

Since that game, Florida State has won 6 straight games and climbed into the Top 10 in the country. They reached 20 wins faster than any other season in school history except for one season back in the '80s.

They are headed for a high seed in the ACC and the NCAA tourney. No game describes the difference that one loss made in this team than the one this past Monday at nationally ranked Virginia.

The game started bad for the Seminoles. Nothing was dropping and they were down 16 points. This game could have been over quick but Floriday State has developed a sense of confidence.

They have character and poise and showed it.

With Angel Gray playing the best basketball of her life, the Seminoles fought back for a tremendous comeback win, 59-58.  Gray had a career-high 27 points and Seminole leader Jacinta Moore hit two critical free-throws down the stretch in the win.

It was anotehr signature road win and another sign that this Florida State team has grown up and have a lot to be excited about as we approach post season.
