LOS ANGELES -- As was clear Sunday night, when the crowd at STAPLES Center began doing the wave during a timeout -- for the record, it was not Turn Back the Clock Night, only Halloween -- it is not always easy for the Lakers to be focused.

Joining the fans, getting up and down out of their seats, was Ron Artest.

Of course, it was hard to blame Artest. By this time, it was the fourth quarter and the Lakers -- whose lead ballooned to 31 points -- were well on their way to finishing off Golden State, 107-83.

And at this point, the question for the two-time defending champions is the same as it is for Artest: how long is their attention span?

If the Lakers continue to play as they have in their first three victories - and the presumption is they will continue to improve - it may be some time before they lose.

The Lakers play Memphis at home on Tuesday, then it's off to Sacramento Wednesday, and back home to Toronto on Friday. A test looms Sunday at home against Portland, which is one of four remaining unbeaten teams and typically plays the Lakers tough. But there is a real possibility that the Lakers could be 8-0 when they head to Denver on Nov. 11.
