Lakers donate for victims of super storm Sandy

The Lakers have donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross to assist victims of super storm Sandy.
“Although the devastation caused by this hurricane was thousands of miles from Southern California, we consider the Lakers to be part of a much larger community, and we wanted to do our part to help the recovery of those affected,” said Janie Drexel, director of charitable services.
Additionally the team has promised to match up to an additional $50,000 of donations from fans, bringing their total contribution to $100,000.
