NEW YORK (AP) La Madrina and jockey Javier Castellano beat Expression by three lengths on Wednesday in the $78,400 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Belmont Park.
A gray 3-year-old trained by Hall of Famer Shug McGaughey, La Madrina improved to 3 for 4. She paid $4.70, $3 and $2.10 as the 6-5 favorite.
The time was 1:16.04 on the fast track.
Expression returned $3.80 and $2.10 while Evening Show paid $2.10 to show.
