KU's Young injured in practice

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Kevin Young, a senior forward for No. 7 Kansas, will be out for about two weeks after breaking a bone in his hand.
Coach Bill Self commented on the injury through a university release, "Kevin broke a bone in the middle of his hand. Surgery was performed (Friday) this morning to insert a screw. He should be back shooting and non-contact within 10 days and hopefully back on the court within two weeks. I think it’s a setback for Kevin and us because he’s worked so hard and has been playing so well. I think this will give somebody else an opportunity to get some reps and hopefully better prepare themselves. I know Kevin will not lose any conditioning or anything."
Young, of Perris, Calif., was a top reserve for the Jayhawks during last year's run to the NCAA title game, averaging 11.4 minutes, 3.4 points and 3 rebounds per game.
