Kolb atop Cardinals' first depth chart

July 30, 2012
The training-camp battles have yet to be waged, but we know where things stand now that the Cardinals have released their first official depth chart, which was handed out to the media on Monday as part of pregame materials for the upcoming Hall of Fame Game.
The news of note (not that it comes as a surprise): Kevin Kolb is the No. 1 quarterback heading into Sunday’s preseason opener against the Saints. John Skelton -- who is in an "open competition" to win the starting job, according to coach Ken Whisenhunt -- is No. 2.
As for the other position battles of interest: Andre Roberts is listed as the starting wideout across from Larry Fitzgerald, with Early Doucet the backup and rookie Michael Floyd the third-stringer (DeMarco Sampson is Fitz's backup); veteran Jeremy Bridges is the starter at right tackle ahead of rookie Bobby Massie; and William Gay is the starter at right cornerback, with Greg Toler listed as the backup (Michael Adams is listed as Patrick Peterson's backup at the other corner spot).
Here's the complete depth chart.
