Kobe receives treatment on right foot

After a pair of back-to-back games, Coach Mike Brown gave the Lakers a day off. The team finished the preseason 0-8 after a 94-82 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.
According to The Times' Mike Bresnahan, Kobe Bryant was at the team's practice facility in El Segundo on Friday to receive treatment on his bruised right foot.
Bryant's status for the season opener on Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks is unclear.
The Lakers All-Star guard tripped over the foot of rookie forward Thomas Robinson on Sunday in another loss to the Kings. He did not play in the Lakers' final two preseason contests.
If Bryant can't play against the Mavericks, Brown will choose between Jodie Meeks and Devin Ebanks to start.
Meeks has struggled in the Lakers' offense but has shot well from three-point range. Ebanks is the better defender and has recently seemed more comfortable in the team's offense.
The Lakers' preseason was marred by injury. The high-powered starting lineup of Steve Nash, Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace, Dwight Howard and Bryant played in only a single game together.
The team is certainly better than their winless preseason record, but it might take some time for the Lakers to hit their stride.
