MINNEAPOLIS -- Socks.

That's what the Minnesota Timberwolves are using to promote Andrew Wiggins' case for Rookie of the Year. The team is sending pairs of socks with Wiggins' picture on them to more than 160 media members and Rookie of the Year voters as the season nears a close.

The reason? The Timberwolves believe Wiggins has knocked peoples' socks off with his impressive rookie campaign, so they’re sending a replacement pair.

Hopefully they're washed.

Wiggins, who was the No. 1 pick by Cleveland in this year's draft, was traded to Minnesota before the season in the deal that sent Kevin Love to the Cavaliers. In 77 games this season, the 20-year-old Wiggins is averaging 16.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game with the Timberwolves.

Now Minnesota and Wiggins will hold onto their socks as the Rookie of the Year voting takes place.
