Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, which the Kings won 6-1 over the New Jersey Devils to clinch their first championship, registered a 25 share and a 13.6 household rating on Channel 4 in Los Angeles — the highest rating in the Los Angeles market for any broadcast network NHL playoff game on record (since 1976).

The previous high in the nation's second-largest market was an 18 share and 10.0 household rating for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Ducks and New Jersey, broadcast on Channel 7 on June 9, 2003.

According to NBC, the overnight sampling of the 56 top markets for Monday's Kings-Devils game recorded a 7 share and a 4 rating, up from last year's Game 6 between Boston and Vancouver, which had a 6 share and a 3.9 rating.
