Ken Rosenthal tweets Tribe and Kluber close to deal

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- For the second straight year, the Indians could have a contract extension to announce on Opening Day.
First reported by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal and confirmed by Fox Sports Ohio, the team is closing in on an extension with Corey Kluber and are also working to get one done with Carlos Carrasco. Both right-handers are expected to anchor the rotation this season.

Kluber, who is the team's fourth Cy Young winner, was not arbitration eligible this season and signed a one-year deal worth $601,000. An extension would cover at least five seasons with a club option for one or two years. That would cover all of his arbitration seasons plus a year or two of free agency.
Carrasco agreed to a one-year deal worth $2.337 million in January as both sides avoided salary arbitration.
Last year on Opening Day the team agreed to an extension with catcher Yan Gomes and announced an extension with second baseman Jason Kipnis four days later before the home opener.
