The Braves took Kenshin Kawakami off the 40-man roster this weekend. It was pretty much an admission that the move to bring over the Japanese star did not work out.
Two years ago Atlanta was desperate for starting pitchers. They had been turned down by Jake Peavy, and then rejected by A.J. Burnett. And after having Buddy Carlyle and Jorge Campillo in the rotation in 2008 help was sorely needed.
