University of Wisconsin freshman Vitto Brown has become just as well known around campus for his singing talents as his basketball skills.
This week, Brown didn't let a little thing like finals week stand in the way of a chance to flex his golden pipes once more. The 6-foot-8, 237-pound forward performed a rendition of Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are" with the group Fundamentally Sound that posted to YouTube.
The description of the video notes the other three singers are members of an award-winning men's acappella group that pushes "the boundaries of collegiate a cappella with thought-provoking musical arrangements and high-energy performances." The leader of the group is Karan Aditya, who invites guests to join him in singing cover songs. Karan's Covers is part of the group's webseries known as #FSunplugged. The other members are Brett Kissell and Drew Hartberg, who provide keyboard and bongo accompaniment.
Brown, of course, is no stranger to the big stage. He was a first-team all-state pick for basketball as a senior at Bowling Green High in Ohio and played in 14 games for the Badgers this season, including three in their NCAA tournament Final Four run.
He also has performed numerous times as a member of his family's singing group known as "Shades of Brown."
Last season, Brown's family performed the national anthem at the Kohl Center before the Badgers played Indiana on Feb. 25. Brown also sang the anthem solo before Wisconsin's Red-White game on Oct. 26.
