Jose Fernandez continues to build on an impressive rookie season.
The Marlins right-hander went 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA last week, earning him Co-National League Player of the Week. It was the second time this season he received the honor.
On Aug. 19, Fernandez allowed the Ddogers just a run while striking out eight in six innings. And on Aug. 24, he threw seven shutout innings while striking out eight batters.
He is 10-5 with a 2.30 ERA and 165 strikeouts this season.
