Johnson leads Louisiana Tech past Tulsa 66-61

RUSTON, La. (AP) -- Jaron Johnson scored 18 points as Louisiana Tech came back to beat Tulsa 66-61 Thursday.
A 6-0 spurt by Tulsa extended its lead to 50-41 with 6:53 remaining. Louisiana Tech scored eight of the next nine points, trimming its deficit to two with about 5 minutes to play.
Rashad Ray hit a jumper and James Woodard made a free throw to make it 54-49 with 3:16 left but Louisiana Tech went on a 14-1 run -- including eight points from Kenyon McNeail -- to give the Bulldogs (19-5, 7-2 Conference USA) a 63-55 advantage with 37 seconds to go.
Tim Peete's layup pulled Tulsa (10-12, 5-3) within five and, following a steal by Ray, Woodard's layup made it 64-61 with 19 seconds left.
Kenneth Smith and Johnson each made 1 of 2 free throws in the final 16 seconds to seal the win.
Shaquille Harrison paced Tulsa with 14 points.
