Jerry Jones fired Rob Ryan, but says he'll make a 'great head coach'

Jerry Jones fired Rob Ryan in January 2013 after the Dallas Cowboys missed the playoffs for a third consecutive season.
In Ryan's two years as Cowboys defensive coordinator, Dallas finished 14th in total defense in 2011 and 19th in 2012.
The Cowboys will face a Ryan defense Sunday night when New Orleans comes to town.
Jones said Friday morning that he's concerned about some of the schemes Ryan will be showing Sunday night. And he should be. Last year, Ryan's Saints defense held the Cowboys to nine first downs, 193 yards and 17 points during a 49-17 win.
"He is very creative and he's got them, had them playing well last year," Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. "They had a great year and hats off to him. But he's creative that if his players can execute, and I'm talking about execute as play by play, then it's really a difficult thing for the opposing quarterback. His defenses are.
"I know that Tony [Romo] was a real admirer of Rob's defenses. On the other hand, the trick is getting the guys to be in the right spots that he had set up and that's where his coaching ability comes. I think Rob's going to make a great head coach. I haven't seen anybody that is better in front of a team and better motivating than Rob Ryan."
