Jerry Jones: Cowboys RB Randle will 'pay high price' for arrest

Considering the value of the items that Joseph Randle reportedly stole, Jerry Jones said the Cowboys running back's fine certainly should send a message.
"He's certainly going to pay a high price for some underwear and a demonstration bottle of cologne. That will set a record," Jones said Friday in an interview with 105.3 FM The Fan.
Jones addressed the situation Friday for the first time since news broke that Randle had been arrested for shoplifting at a Frisco, Texas, mall on Monday night. Randle has since apologized, and Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the team's disciplinary action will involve a hefty fine and no suspension.
On Friday, Jones painted a picture of what that fine would be.
"It'll probably be what they charged Dez Bryant when all the seniors took Dez out for that hazing and put that big tab of wine and food on Dez," Jones said, referring to a famous $55,000 team dinner at Bryant's expense in his rookie season of 2010. "It'll probably surpass what Dez paid for a few bottles of wine."
Randle is no longer a rookie, and he also isn't a first-round pick, as Bryant was. His base salary for 2014 is roughly $450,000, and his weekly game checks total about $30,000 per week before taxes.
Jones said the Cowboys have "reviewed everything we can review" this past week following the incident. He said he was satisfied by Randle's apology and actions since the arrest.
"His track record — he makes a miscue, he'll straighten it up and he'll go forward," Jones said. "He's contrite, which is an overused word but an important word, and he is."
