Jerry Jones didn't like seeing his 34-year-old franchise quarterback take three sacks Saturday night in Miami.

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line didn't have a great night protecting Tony Romo during a 25-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Romo, who has been limited since having December back surgery, played the entire first half. He completed 10-of-18 passes for 87 yards, but was he also sacked on Dallas' second, third and fifth offensive series.

"That concerned me," Jones said, "not because of being able to correct what it takes to block them, but it just concerned me that he was taking those sacks."

The first-team offensive line of Tyron Smith, Ron Leary, Travis Frederick, Zack Martin and Doug Free is expected to be a strength for the Cowboys this season. Jones said he was hoping an outing like the one Saturday night could be used as motivation for the group.

The running game also struggled up front. DeMarco Murray managed only 18 yards on six rushing attempts.

"They're a strength, but it shows that they've got some more work to do," Jones said. "I think that's the kind of thing they'll have plenty to work on and when they do they'll make them better for San Francisco.

"I'm just glad we were able to sit here and talk about that without talking about Romo being a little tight in the back."

The Cowboys have their final preseason game Thursday at AT&T Stadium. Starters usually don't play in the preseason finale, however, Jones said the Cowboys' first team offensive line could get some work against the Denver Broncos.

"I think it's a possibility we may see more from some of the offensive starters," he said. "I don't know that would include Romo, but I think we might be able to see more work – speculation, but I haven't talked to the coaches about this and it will be their decision – but that offensive line might get some work against Denver."
