Jaguars release RB Justin Forsett

Running back Justin Forsett, who missed much of the 2013 season because of a foot injury, has been released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Forsett, 28, missed the entire preseason and played in only nine of 16 regular-season games after being signed as a free agent a year ago. He had six carries for 31 yards, numbers which were down significantly from what he compiled in 2012 while with the Houston Texans, and 15 receptions for 82 yards.
Forsett ran for 619 yards and caught 41 passes in 2009 while a member of the Seattle Seahawks, where current Jaguars coach Gus Bradley was serving as defensive coordinator.
The Jaguars finished next-to-last in the NFL this past season in rushing yards per game, and Forsett's release is the latest move to try upgrading that area. They have decided to let running back Maurice Jones-Drew test his value on the free-agent market, and starting right guard Uche Nwaneri was recently cut.
