JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars guard Drew Nowak is back at practice, a day after totaling his car while driving to the team hotel.
Nowak, a second-year player who missed all of last season with a foot injury, crashed his 2001 Mercedes-Benz a couple of miles from EverBank Field. Another driver ran a red light, smashed into the passenger's side of Nowak's car and plowed him onto a curb.
Nowak says he "didn't really have any time to react. I just kind of tensed up and took it."
He added that it was a good thing he was alone: "If somebody was sitting next to me, they might have gotten really hurt."
Both drivers were uninjured. Nowak sustained a minor cut on his right elbow, but it didn't prevent him from practicing Sunday.
