BLUE JACKETS REASSIGN FORWARD NICK DRAZENOVIC TO SPRINGFIELD FALCONS OF THE AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE
COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets announced tonight that center Nick Drazenovic has been reassigned to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
Drazenovic, 26, has appeared in eight games with Columbus this season, recording five shots on goal, eight hits and 29 face-off wins. The 6-1, 192-pound native of Prince George, British Columbia has also scored 17 goals and dished out 32 assists for 49 points with 18 penalty minutes and a +11 plus/minus rating in 54 games with the Falcons this season. He ranks second on the club in scoring behind LW Jonathan Audy-Marchessault (19-40-59, 64 GP).
Signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on July 1, 2011 after spending four seasons in the Blues organization, Drazenovic was St. Louis’ sixth pick, 171st overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft. He skated in three games with St. Louis (0-0-0) and 278 games with the Blues’ AHL affiliate in Peoria (70-90-160) from 2007-11. In 41 appearances with Springfield last season, Drazenovic recorded 13-28-41.

COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that forward Nick Foligno has been placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to March 26. Foligno, 25, has missed Columbus’ last two games with an upper body injury.
Acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Senators last summer, Foligno has tallied 5-10-15 in 33 appearances with Columbus Jackets this season. Originally selected by Ottawa in the first round, 28th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Foligno has registered 66-97-163 in 384 career NHL games with the Senators and Blue Jackets. The 6-0, 210-pound native of Buffalo, New York has twice represented the United States at the IIHF World Championships, recording 3-2-5 in 15 appearances at the 2009 and 2010 editions of the tournament.
