'Inside the Rays: Offseason Special' premieres Feb. 26 on Sun Sports
TAMPA, Fla. -- On Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m., Sun Sports, the statewide television home of the Rays, will premiere a brand new episode of the "Inside the Rays: Offseason Special" series. Hosted by Sun Sports Rays host / in-game reporter Todd Kalas, the episode begins by setting the spotlight on the start of a new year in the Rays clubhouse as the focus turns to Spring Training and the 2015 season.
Sun Sports Rays play-by-play announcer Dewayne Staats sits down with Manager Kevin Cash to discuss a number of topics, ranging from Tampa Bay's new additions, to his managerial philosophies as a first-time skipper. The Rays coaching staff has also seen a bit of a change with the additions of former Tampa Bay outfielder Rocco Baldelli and successful Triple-A Durham Bulls manager Charlie Montoyo. Longtime third base coach Tom Foley has been promoted to bench coach to assist Cash, and as the longest tenured coach in Tampa Bay's history, Foley is looking forward to the opportunity.
"Inside the Rays: Offseason Special" dives into the Rays' efforts off the diamond as well. Cameras were rolling when the 23rd annual Ted Williams Museum Induction Dinner took place inside Tropicana Field with Rays pitcher Alex Cobb serving as host. Additionally, the Rays organization continued its terrific work in the community, teaming up with Kaboom to build a new playground in Bradenton for the Team Success Charter School.
Finally, the episode concludes with Sun Sports Rays analyst Orestes Destrade discussing all the comings and goings of players as the Rays look to continue their success in the always competitive American League East.
