Indians say Floyd's surgery went well

The Indians issued an update on Gavin Floyd's surgery that was conducted at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday.
Doctors Thomas Graham and Mark Schickendantz performed the 90-minute procedure, which fixated and stabilized the fracture of the olecranon bone in the right elbow.
Floyd is expected to initiate range of motion activities in approximately two weeks and will be out indefinitely. He is expected to miss the season.
"Before he left he had moved beyond the news and looked like he was able to take that next step and be ready to tackle this," manager Terry Francona told reporters before Thursday's game against Seattle. "It will be good for him to work with our guys. If he pitches for us or not, they (the medical and training staff) will go the extra mile."
Floyd signed a one-year contract with the Indians during the offseason.
