Indians notes: Salazar to start Monday, Raburn day-to-day, Kluber getting stronger

A couple things of note before the Indians face the Padres today:

* Ryan Raburn is day-to-day with a contusion to his left knee and a cut lip after smacking the right-field wall during the second inning of Friday's 7-2 win over the Cubs. Manager Terry Francona told reporters that Raburn would likely be held out of tomorrow's game against the Brewers.

"Structurally he's OK. He just whacked it," said Francona about Raburn and his knee. "He's got a baby due which takes precedence. We'll try to get him some at bats before he leaves (which is around the 17th)."

Raburn is one of the Tribe's best hitters so far this spring. He is 6-for-10 with all but two of the hits being for extra bases.

* Danny Salazar, who threw in a simulated game on Friday, will get the start on Monday against the Angels and will see two innings of work. In the simulated game, Salazar threw 21 pitches to six minor-league hitters and struck out three while allowing a hit and an unearned run. Salazar's fastball topped out at 95-96 miles per hour.

"We have been maneuvering the pitching to make sure we get innings for everyone," Francona said. "I think the biggest thing for Danny is to see him at his best but that's the goal for everyone."

* Francona was very pleased with how Corey Kluber did on Friday. Kluber went three innings and had five strikeouts, including striking out the side in the fifth.

Said Francona of Kluber: "He has gotten stronger. You can win with guys like Klubs. He just doesn't have a big track record yet. He has a fire but it's not very loud yet."

* Sunday starts the first of five straight Indians games on SportsTime Ohio. For those with MLB.TV, the Padres are televising today's game on Fox Sports San Diego.
