Indians home opener sells out in record time

The Indians have announced that available tickets for the April 10 home opener against the Detroit Tigers sold out in 11 minutes. Some seats are being held for those wishing to purchase season-ticket packages.
Cleveland's home opener last year against the Twins sold out in 15 minutes.
This is the third-earliest date that the home opener has sold out since the Indians moved the initial on-sale date to the spring in 2009. The 2013 game against the Yankees was declared a sellout on Feb. 25 and last year's sold out on March 3.
It will be the 23rd consecutive home opener that the Indians have sold out, dating back to their days at Municipal Stadium. Progressive Field opened in 1994.
The home opener is slated to start at 4:10 p.m. and will be on SportsTime Ohio.
