Indians and Royals will try again to finish what they started

CLEVELAND --€“ When we last left the Indians and Royals game on Aug. 31, there was a deluge at Kaufman Stadium as the bottom of the 10th was about to start with the Tribe holding a 4-2 lead.

Three weeks later and 794 miles from where it started, the teams will finish it before tonight's regularly scheduled game at Progressive Field. Mike Moustakas, Erik Kratz and Alcides Escobar are due up against Kyle Crockett.

"Crockett is in the game and from that point on we treat it just like a normal game. That's probably the best way to approach it," manager Terry Francona said of his approach to this.

Justin Sellers will come into the game and play second base with Jason Kipnis still nursing a hamstring injury.

A win would put the Indians just 2½ games behind the Royals for the last Wild Card spot.

"This is about as exciting as we can get. I wish we had a lead but you can't complain about it. I'd rather be nervous than packing," Francona said. "The guys have worked so hard and to be in this situation with a week to go, that's a good feeling. I think our guys are embracing it and doing a good job with it."
