* Tampa Bay Lightning star center Steven Stamkos was taken off the ice on a stretcher after breaking the tibia in his right leg crashing into the post against Boston on Monday. The injury will keep Stamkos out of the lineup indefinitely. Read More

* Patrice Bergeron and Daniel Paille scored 20 seconds apart a few minutes after Tampa Bay star Steven Stamkos was taken off the ice on a stretcher with a right leg injury, and the Boston Bruins beat the Lightning 3-0 on Monday afternoon. Read More

* Sophomore middle linebacker Antonio Morrison, who leads the Gators with 56 tackles, will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury. Morrison suffered the injury early in Saturday's game but was able to continue playing, recording a team-high 10 tackles in Florida's 34-17 loss to Vanderbilt. Morrison is the 10th UF player to be lost for the season due to injury. Read More

* Florida State has lost backup quarterback Jacob Coker for the rest of the regular season to a knee injury he suffered in the rout of Wake Forest on Saturday. Coach Jimbo Fisher said it was a meniscus injury but he's not sure of the severity. Coker will have surgery on Tuesday. It's possible that Coker could return for Florida State's bowl game. Read More

* Even though Ohio State might be No. 3 in the polls and the BCS rankings, the Buckeyes consider themselves to be better than that. On Monday, wide receiver Evan Spencer said of Alabama and Florida State, "I guess I'm a little biased but I think we'd wipe the field with both of them." Read More

* University of Miami senior Allen Hurns was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Receiver of the Week. The 6-3, 195-pounder caught four passes for a career-high 142 yards in Miami's 42-24 loss to Virginia Tech. Hurns' 84-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter was the longest of his career and the longest play from scrimmage for Miami this season. Read More
