* First-round pick Dion Jordan of Oregon has signed a deal with the Miami Dolphins just a day before the team holds its first practice. Jordan’s deal is reportedly for four years with a team option for a fifth. Read More
* Sprinter Jeff Demps will keep busy on the track in July and will likely be invited to represent the U.S. in the world championships in mid-August. But after that, his agent said Demps will report to the Bucs for the final few weeks of the preseason. Read More
* The Rays get a solid start from Jeremy Hellickson, who won his fifth straight start, and Joel Peralta helped Tampa Bay get out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth in a 4-3 win over Toronto on Saturday. It was the Rays’ 16th win in its last 18 games. Read More
