Miami's win over Florida on Saturday propelled the Hurricanes into the Associated Press top 25 poll.
The Hurricanes are ranked 15th in Sunday's poll after a 21-16 win over the Gators on Saturday at Sun Life Stadium. Miami had received votes in last week's poll, putting the Hurricanes at No. 26.
Miami (2-0) is ranked in the AP poll for the first time since November 2010. The Hurricanes are tied for 18th in the USA TODAY coaches' poll.
"Hopefully our guys aren't thinking about (the ranking) because it's not where you are now, it's where you end up, where you finish," Miami coach Al Golden said.
This is also the first time that Golden has been ranked in his time as a head coach — 2007-10 at Temple and 2011-13 at Miami.
"Hey, I wouldn't have taken the Temple job (if I cared about a ranking)," Golden said. "They were No. 120 out of 120."
Florida, meanwhile, dropped six spots to No. 18 in the AP poll and fell to No. 20 in the coaches' poll. The Gators (1-1) are heading into a bye week after giving up five turnovers to Miami.
Florida State (1-0) moved up one spot to No. 9 in the coaches poll but remains at No. 10 in the AP poll. The Seminoles did not play Saturday, as they had an early bye following a 41-13 rout at Pittsburgh on Monday to open the season. The Seminoles will play host to Nevada in their home opener on Saturday.
Alabama remains the nation's top team, followed by Oregon. Clemson moved up a spot to No. 3, followed by Ohio State and Stanford.
The SEC still has four teams in the top 10: No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 8 LSU and No. 9 Georgia. South Carolina slipped to No. 13 after a 41-30 loss to Georgia.
The top 5 in the coaches' poll is Alabama, Oregon, Ohio State, Stanford and Clemson.
