How they voted: Badgers in AP hoops poll (Week 3)

Published Nov. 19, 2013 12:47 p.m. ET

Wisconsin made a big jump in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll - from  No. 20 to No. 12.
That certainly makes sense as the Badgers have three pretty nice victories under their belt already over St. John's (neutral court), Florida (home) and UW-Green Bay (road).
In fact, both Jon Wilner and Scott Wolf put Wisconsin at No. 9 on their ballots after not having ranked the Badgers at all in the first two weeks.
There were plenty of other big jumps as well: Jeff Faraudo from 23 to 10, Cecil Hurt 22 to 11 and John Werner 25 to 12 among them.
And yet ...
At the bottom of the list there's Chuck McGilll of the Charleston (W. Va.) Daily Mail, who did not put Wisconsin on his ballot. (Kieran Darcy, meanwhile has UW at No. 24 and Florida at No. 11.)
I'm not sure McGill's reasoning. He also has Oklahoma State at No. 2, Wichita State No. 9 and Harvard at No. 12 - the highest votes of anyone among the AP voters.
I tried to contact McGill via Twitter to get his reasoning on the Badgers ... but no response.
