COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) Missouri has named Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades as the school's new AD.
The school said Monday that Rhoades will assume the post in late April after the board of curators approved the hire in a special session.
Rhoades succeeds Mike Alden, who announced in January that he'd be stepping down at the end of the summer. The 49-year-old Rhoades was a candidate for Texas A&M's athletic director opening in 2012 when Missouri chancellor R. Bowen Loftin was president at that school.
Rhoades has been at Houston since 2009, overseeing 17 varsity sports. Prior to that he was athletic director at Akron.
