Hines Ward to have cameo on 'The Walking Dead'

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward will bolster his acting resume soon with a cameo in an upcoming episode of AMC's zombie-fueled series, "The Walking Dead." The 36-year-old Ward, who had 1,000 receptions and 85 touchdowns over a 14-year NFL career, reportedly had to spend upwards of two hours in the makeup room in order to play the role of a zombie in the show. Ward hasn't exactly been camera-shy since his retirement in 2012. He won season 12 of "Dancing With the Stars" and had a cameo in the most recent Christopher Nolan Batman film, "The Dark Knight Rises." In the latter performance, he plays a football player who manages to outrun a sequence of explosions on Gotham's football field and survive. We'll see if he'll have similar luck and manages to escape being killed off in his "Walking Dead" performance, but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on his zombie guts getting splattered all over the joint. Personally, as a Patriots fan, I certainly wouldn't mind. If you want to check out a preview of Ward's appearance, you can do so here.
