Hercules might have gotten a little more than he bargained for when he watched real-life gladiators go at it.

Kellan Lutz, who plays the Greek god in the upcoming movie, was front and center at UFC 168 and Anderson Silva's broken leg clearly sent shivers down his spine.

"You see it happen and then you hear it," Lutz said on FOX Sports 1's Crowd Goes Wild with Regis Philbin. "It kind of amplifies what actually takes place."

Lutz was likely in attendance, because he has become friends with UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, his co-star in The Expendables 3. Rousey beat Miesha Tate to defend her title in the co-main event at the Las Vegas show on Dec. 28.

In fairness to Lutz, who is rapidly becoming a big Hollywood action star, he said he has been a UFC fan and touted the greatness of Silva, who many believe is the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

"He's a hero in my eyes," Lutz said.

As far as Silva'€™s comeback? Lutz doesn't seem too confident in the Brazilian former UFC middleweight champion's potential return.

"You don't want to wish that on anyone," Lutz said of the grisly break during the fight with Chris Weidman. ... "I would love to see him come back, but that is tough to come back [from]."
