The Miami Heat announced on Tuesday the official signings of guard Andre Dawkins and forward Shawn Jones to bolster their training camp roster.

A Miami native, Jones is an undrafted 6-foot-7 forward out of Middle Tennessee State University who previously starred at Hialeah High School. He played five games for the Los Angeles Clippers during the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League tournament, averaging 5.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 14.4 minutes.

Dawkins won the 2010 NCAA Championship with Duke University as a backup in his freshman year and averaged 7.1 points, 1.6 rebounds and 17.4 minutes through four seasons there. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard endeded his collegiate career ranked fifth in three-point field goal percentage and eighth in three-point field goals made on Duke's all-time list.

After going undrafted, Dawkins played with the Heat in the 2014 Orlando Summer League tournament and averaged 12.3 points, 1.3 assists and 19.1 minutes in four games. In one memorable game, he knocked down seven three-pointers out of 12 attempts and finished with 27 points. Additionally, he also played for the Houston Rockets in the Las Vegas Summer League tournament.

While Jones must compete for a final roster spot among a crowded frontcourt, Dawkins' shooting range could prove tempting for the coaching staff with the loss of veterans Ray Allen and Shane Battier.

The Heat's roster now stands at 19, leaving just one spot left for the maximum amount of players that can be brought into training camp. The team can retain a maximum of 15 for the regular season.
