Heat add depth with signing of Tyler Johnson

The Miami Heat have made another move to bolster their roster with the addition of undrafted rookie Tyler Johnson, league sources have told RealGM.

Johnson had an impressive showing with the Heat at the Orlando and Las Vegas Summer League tournaments last month, averaging 12.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists. The 22-year-old dazzled spectators in Summer League with several highlight reel-worthy dunks that showed off his athleticism.

The 6-foot-4 guard out of Fresno State was a four-year player who averaged 15.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as a senior. He also shot 43 percent from three-point territory.

Prior to the signing of Johnson, the Heat only had one true shooting guard under contract with Dwyane Wade. The team also plans to utilize Mario Chalmers as a combo guard.
