Vikings wide receiver and kick returner Percy Harvin has been named the NFC's Special Teams Player of the Month for September.

Harvin leads the NFL with a 38.3 yards per kick return average, including a 105-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Detroit last Sunday.

It is the first time in Vikings history that a return specialist has won the award. Punter Chris Kluwe was the last player in franchise history to win the award, earning the honors in September of 2005.
