Harness driver Brian Sears has raced to his 7,000th victory.

Sears reached the milestone in Friday's first race at the Meadowlands Racetrack when the 42-year-old driver guided trotter Muscles Marinara to an easy victory.

Sears was harness racing's Driver of the Year in 2009. He surpassed $100 million in lifetime earnings, ranking him eighth on harness racing's career list.

Sears won the harness racing's biggest prize, the $1.5 million Hambletonian, last year with Muscle Hill in a world record time of 1:50.1. He also won the Hambletonian Oaks on the same card with Broadway Schooner, becoming the first driver to win both events in the same year.
