Tim Hardaway Jr. didn't wake up Wednesday feeling any better than he did Tuesday night.
The Michigan junior went 1-for-11 in a stunning 75-52 loss at the hands of Michigan State and then talked about his embarrassment after the game.
"They bullied us, point blank," Hardaway said. "We got killed, man, and it's embarrassing that everyone was watching on national TV. We just got embarrassed."
He took that message directly to the fans Wednesday morning.
"Would like to apologize to our fans, alum, UofM, and all of wolverine nation for the performance displayed last night," he tweeted. "Will not happen again."
Hardaway has always struggled at the Breslin Center -- he's now shooting 15.1 percent there in three career games -- but looked especially lost while the fourth-ranked Wolverines were getting blown out by No. 8 Michigan State. Hardaway didn't make a shot in the first half, then sat on the bench while his teammates warmed up for the second half.
He briefly showed signs of life, driving to the basket for a layup, then faded away again.
Wednesday, he used Twitter to assure the fans that he and his teammates knew there couldn't be a repeat performance.
"We will learn from our mistakes and get better as a TEAM," he said to nearly 17,000 followers. "God bless you all."
