Grizzlies' hot start helps Joerger claim Coach of the Month honors

The NBA tabbed the Grizzlies' Dave Joerger as the Western Conference Coach of the Month (October/November) on Monday -- yet another reward for the frachise's amazing start to the season.
This marks the third time Joerger -- in his second season with the Grizzlies -- has captured Coach of the Month honors. He previously won the award in January 2014 and April 2014.
As part of the club's superb start (15-2), Memphis stands at 11-0 against Western opponents.
Of the last 20 seasons, it's the second-longest winning streak by a West team against in-conference foes -- trailing only the 2010-11 San Antonio Spurs (15 straight West-centric victories).
After the Grizzlies won their two October games -- including the club's first opening-night victory in 14 seasons -- they posted a 13-2 record for November.
The Grizzlies are also 8-0 at home this season, extending their regular-season home winning streak to 22 games (dating back to last February) -- the longest by an NBA team since the Denver Nuggets won 23 straight during the 2012-13 campaign.
Memphis has held opponents to the lowest scoring average in the league (92.4 points) and ranks third in points in the paint (47.1) and fourth in steals (8.3).
