KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) -- Ronny Cedeno tripled hours after signing with the Houston Astros, who beat the Miami Marlins 4-1 Sunday in a game shortened to 4 1-2 innings because of rain.

Released by St. Louis on March 19, Cedeno agreed to a one-year deal with Houston and immediately was inserted into the lineup at shortstop. He went 1 for 2, grounding into an inning-ending forceout in the second and tripling to right in the fourth against Jacob Turner.

Brett Wallace hit his third homer, a two-run drive in the third.

Houston minor leaguer David Martinez allowed one run and eight hits in four innings. Turner gave up four runs, five hits and four walks in 4 2-3 innings.

Miami's Greg Dobbs was 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles.

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- Chase Utley and Ryan Howard hit back-to-back home runs for the second consecutive day, but rookie Jackie Bradley Jr. and the Boston Red Sox roughed up Cliff Lee in a 7-6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

Bradley hit a three-run homer in the second inning and finished with four RBIs. He had a sacrifice fly in the third as Boston scored three more times off Lee, who was making his final start in Florida before the Phillies break camp later this week.

The ace left-hander allowed six runs -- four earned -- and nine hits in 5 1-3 innings. He struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.

The 40th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Bradley is batting .423 (22 for 52) with two homers, four doubles and nine RBIs in 23 games this spring, his first in major league camp.

VIERA, Fla. (AP) -- Bryce Harper had three hits and stole two bases, one day after he was scratched because of a swollen left hand, and Danny Espinosa went 3 for 3 with a three-run homer Sunday in the Washington Nationals' rain-shortened 9-3 win over the Atlanta Braves.

In a game called after seven innings because of bad weather, Washington's Jordan Zimmermann allowed three runs -- one earned -- and six hits in six innings with four strikeouts.

The day was so windy that Atlanta starter Kris Medlen wondered whether he would be blown over as he started his windup. Medlen gave up six runs and eight hits in five innings.

Adam LaRoche had two hits and three RBIs for Washington, which had 12 hits. Dan Uggla had an RBI single for the Braves.

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- Joe Mauer had a three-run homer and six RBIs and Justin Morneau hit a two-run drive that caromed off a palm tree behind the right-field wall, helping the Minnesota Twins rout the Toronto Blue Jays 14-5 Sunday.

Mauer homered to center in a four-run first off Dave Bush and hit a three-run double in the fourth that chased Guillermo Moscoso, who also allowed Morneau's homer during the seven-run inning.

Aaron Hicks, bidding to become the Twins' center fielder, was 4 for 4 and raised his batting average to .350.

Luis Jimenez homered twice and drove in four runs for the Blue Jays.

Twins starter P.J. Walters gave up three runs and four hits in three innings.

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) -- Doug Fister pitched into the fifth inning and Austin Jackson had two extra-base hits for the Detroit Tigers in a 9-4 victory over a New York Mets split squad Sunday.

Don Kelly hit a two-run homer off Mets reliever Brandon Lyon in a five-run seventh that gave Detroit a 9-2 lead. Jackson had an RBI triple in the inning to go with his run-scoring double in the fourth.

Fister, fighting through a tough spring, gave up two runs on four hits and four walks in 4 2-3 innings for his second Grapefruit League win. He struck out four and lowered his ERA from 7.36 to 6.52.

Matt Harvey went five innings for the Mets, allowing four runs -- three earned -- and five hits. He struck out five and walked three.

Justin Turner had three hits for the Mets, including two doubles.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Vernon Wells might become the latest addition to the New York Yankees' injury-depleted lineup.

As the Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6 in 10 innings Sunday behind a pair of Kevin Youkilis home runs, New York was negotiating with the Los Angeles Angels to acquire the outfielder.

A person familiar with the negotiations, speaking on condition of anonymity because talks were ongoing, said the sides had not yet agreed to the money that would be included in a trade. Wells is owed $42 million over the next two seasons.

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman declined comment. Before the game, Cashman said captain Derek Jeter was likely to join Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson on the disabled list at the start of the season.

BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) -- Chris Dickerson hit a grand slam that gave the Baltimore Orioles an eight-run lead in the first inning Sunday, but it took Steve Pearce's solo shot in the seventh to secure a 12-10 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Andrew McCutchen hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first off Orioles starter Brian Matusz. Gaby Sanchez had three hits and three RBIs for Pittsburgh.

Matusz worked four innings, giving up five runs and nine hits. He walked one and struck out two.

Pearce, a former minor league player of the year in the Pirates' farm system, snapped a 10-all tie with a drive to left field off Mike Zagurski.

Dickerson's slam and Wilson Betemit's two-run double were among five hits in the first off Pirates right-hander Chris Leroux. He started in place of Jeff Karstens, who was scratched due to shoulder soreness.

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) -- After spending almost five years in the U.S. Navy, simply being on the mound at Roger Dean Stadium was exhilarating for St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mitch Harris -- even if the results were disappointing.

Harris gave up a pair of two-run homers and took the loss as a New York Mets split squad beat the Cardinals 10-7 on Sunday.

St. Louis played with a short-handed lineup. Third baseman David Freese was a late scratch after experiencing tightness in his back. Right fielder Carlos Beltran, battling a sore toe, went 1 for 5 in a minor league game.

Jon Jay was 3 for 3 with two RBIs for the Cardinals.

Jamie Hoffmann and Zach Lutz each hit a two-run homer off Harris, selected by the Cardinals out of the Naval Academy in the 13th round of the 2008 draft. He had been unable to play for the organization because of his military service obligation.
