Gophers recover for 71-66 victory over Big Red

Minnesota, ranked No. 13 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, bounced back from their first loss of the season to defeat a stubborn Cornell team (2-6) 71-66 at Williams Arena Saturday night. The Gophers improved to 7-1 with the victory
Minnesota trailed most of the first half, but scored the final seven points of the half to take a 34-33 lead at the break. Cornell shot eight of 17 from beyond the arc (47.1 percent). The Gophers used their size advantage as they out-rebounded the Big Red 27-13 in the first half and snared 13 offensive caroms.
