GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Nate Condon produced a pair of goals Saturday, propelling fifth-ranked Minnesota to a resounding, 6-2 triumph over rival North Dakota in WCHA men's hockey action.

Condon ended the night with three total points, a feat that was matched by Gophers teammate Taylor Matson. That helped Minnesota end a three-game losing streak and avenge a 2-1 loss to North Dakota from Friday.

The Gophers (16-8-1 overall, 12-4-0 WCHA) also got two goals from Nick Bjugstad. Bjugstad tallied his goals in the first period, handing Minnesota a quick, commanding, 2-0 lead.

In the net, goalie Kent Patterson recorded 24 saves for the Gophers.

North Dakota (12-9-2 overall) got goals from Danny Kristo and Michael Parks, but could never gather legitimate momentum, despite the prodding of 11,964 fans in Grand Forks.

Minnesota returns to action next Friday at 7:07 p.m., when it hosts Colorado College.
