Gophers' Andre Hollins, DeAndre Mathieu earn honorable mention league honors

MINNEAPOLIS -- Gophers juniors Andre Hollins and DeAndre Mathieu were both named All-Big Ten honorable mention honorees, the conference announced Monday.
Hollins was tabbed to the honorable mention list by both the coaches and the media, while Mathieu was voted to the list by the media.
Minnesota did not have any players on the first, second, or third team lists.
Hollins led the Gophers in scoring this year, averaging 14.6 points per game while also adding 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists. The Memphis native was named a team captain prior to the start of the season.
Mathieu was a pleasant surprise for the Gophers in his first year at Minnesota after transferring from Central Arizona College. The 5-foot-9 point guard led the Gophers in assists (4.4 per game) while finishing second in scoring behind Hollins (11.9 ppg).
