Glazer: Josh Freeman wants out of Tampa Bay now

By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com Josh Freeman might still be on the Bucs roster, but he’s as good as gone, according to NFL insider Jay Glazer. Days after being demoted from starting quarterback, Freeman told Glazer Sunday morning that he wants to get out of Tampa Bay. “His time there is over,” Glazer said on the FOX NFL Sunday show. “I spoke to Josh this morning and he’s already asked for a trade and Josh told me also, if they don’t want to do that, he wants his release. He just knows that he and [Greg Schiano] are not going to be able to come back and have a happy marriage. He says it’s just better for everybody that I just move on so I’m not a distraction.” Freeman, who was replaced by third-round rookie Mike Glennon, will reportedly be watching the Bucs vs. Cardinals game from a suite opposed to the sideline. Glazer also noted that the NFLPA could be getting involved soon as rumors and reports are surfacing about his leadership and character. Freeman is slated to become a free agent in 2014.
