When the US men's national soccer team faces Ghana tonight in Brazil, there will but no shortage of viewing options in the States.

Meanwhile in Ghana, a power outage threatens the flow of electricity to supporters' televisions and may interrupt the game's broadcast.

According to Quartz, Ghana has suffered power outages this year owing to low water levels at hydroelectric dams on the Volta River, which supplies most of the country's electricity. As it is, officials have also rationed electricity through periodic shutdowns. Quartz adds that in an effort to keep the TVs running, Ghana has purchased 50 megawatts of electricity from its neighbor, Ivory Coast.

It's no wonder why Ghanaians are taking extra measures to ensure its fans can see the match: Ghana has basically become the United States' grim reaper, ousting them in both the 2006 and 2010 World Cup.

Good luck to the people of Ghana.
