Cowboys coach Jason Garrett didn't provide much clarity Monday on the injuries to defensive end DeMarcus Ware and running back DeMarco Murray.
Both were injured in the second quarter of Sunday night's win over Washington. Ware suffered a strained quadriceps while Murray sprained an MCL (knee).
Garrett did shoot down a report that Ware would be out 3-4 weeks.
"We're not living in that timetable," Garrett said. "We see how these guys do day-by-day... We'll just see how he does, how he feels each day and we'll make our plan with him in terms of his rehab based on how he feels."
Ware himself also doubted he would need 3-4 weeks to return.
"I don't think so," Ware told The Dallas Morning News. "I just know my body recovers really fact and I'm not going to be out that long.
"They're saying doubtful this week. But I don't know. I'm just trying to get ready."
Garrett typically doesn't declare when injured players are likely to play, even after they go through full practices. He stuck to that philosophy with Murray as well.
"Similar," Garrett said. "He came in today and said it was feeling a little better. We'll take his situation day-by-day."
Garrett was even more vague about the possible return of defensive lineman Jay Ratliff, who is eligible to return from the PUP (physically unable to perform) list this week.
Ratliff, who was been dealing with groin and hamstring issues, has not returnes to practice. When asked if Ratliff would play this season, Garrett's response was "We'll see."
