Garafolo: Malcom Floyd out indefinitely with neck injury, to seek second opinion

By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com While the Chargers had some encouraging signs from their thin wide receiving corps with Eddie Royal’s 3 TD performance, they lost a mainstay in Malcom Floyd. Floyd, who was stretchered off the field Sunday with a neck injury, is out indefinitely and is seeking a second opinion, FOX Sports 1’s NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports. Floyd will meet with noted spine specialist Dr. Robert Watkins in Los Angeles. The eighth-year receiver fell to the ground after being hit by DeMeco Ryans and Nate Allen. Floyd was immediately taken to the hospital and head coach Mike McCoy said that he was doing “fine” in the postgame news conference. Quarterback Philip Rivers looks to Floyd as his deep threat, as he hauled in five catches for 102 yards before the injury. Questions? Comments?
