FS-North, Twins announce TV schedule

FOX Sports North and the Minnesota Twins announced today a 150-game telecast schedule for the 2011 season, the most games ever televised by the network. For the first time, FOX Sports North will serve as the exclusive television home for the Minnesota Twins, televising nearly every game that isn't scheduled for national network TV. 2011 marks the 23rd season of Twins baseball on the network.

FOX Sports North's regular season coverage begins Friday, April 1, on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays. The network will celebrate Opening Day at Target Field on Friday, April 8, with a special one-hour edition of Qwest Twins Live before the matchup against the Oakland A's.

Other highlights on the 2011 schedule include: 17 games against the Chicago White Sox, 15 games against the Detroit Tigers, six games against the Milwaukee Brewers, eight games against the New York Yankees and three games against the defending World Champion San Francisco Giants.

Veteran announcer Dick Bremer will continue to call the play-by-play alongside analyst and former Twins pitching great Bert Blyleven, who was recently elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Qwest Twins Live will air before and after Twins telecasts with Anthony LaPanta, Marney Gellner and Robby Incmikoski reporting. FOX Sports North broadcasts also will feature analysis from former Twins Ron Coomer, Tim Laudner and Roy Smalley.

FOX Sports North will televise a total of five Minnesota Twins Spring Training games in 2011, beginning with a noon telecast on Monday, March 14, against the Florida Marlins.
