IRVING, TEXAS – Doug Free doesn't routinely speak with large groups of media members at the Cowboys Valley Ranch training facility but he did so on Tuesday.
Coming off a poor performance Sunday at Cowboys Stadium, Free admitted that he is frustrated with how he played but it is not affecting his confidence.
"I'm confident," Free said, standing in front of his locker. "I know I can go out there and play every week."
In terms of his frustration, Free said: "I'm definitely frustrated. There's times when I do a great job and there's other times when I don't get it done exactly perfect, something that I don't want to be part of. I want everything to look great. I want everything to be great."
During a 23-20 overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns, the Cowboys starting right tackle allowed three of Tony Romo's career-high seven sacks, according to ProFootballFocus.com.
"I had a few plays, I gave up some pressure and that's unacceptable," Free said. "You can't have that. A tough game like that, every play counts and we need every play."
When asked about his health Free said he felt "great" outside of dealing with the usual "bumps and bruises."
With the Washington Redskins coming to Cowboys Stadium on Thursday, Free doesn't have much time to reflect back on the Cleveland game.
"Every game is a challenge," Free said. "Some games are better than others, but every game you can look at it and say, 'Well, I did this wrong, I did that wrong.' Some are worse than others. But every game you got things to work on, things to fix and you just got to stay focused on the task at hand."
