Francona retools lineup for series opener vs. White Sox

CLEVELAND -- Different might be an understatement when describing the Indians lineup tonight against the White Sox.
For starters, Michael Bourn and Jason Kipnis have the night off. Tyler Holt gets his second start of the season at center and will bat leadoff for the first time while Zach Walters will start at second for the first time this season and bat eighth.
Ryan Raburn gets his first start since being activated off the disabled list as he will play right field and bat sixth. Roberto Perez is behind the plate and Yan Gomes will be the designated hitter.
"I told Bournie yesterday and he was ok with it. And I talked to Kip last night about it," manager Terry Francona said. "Every game's so important and I think sometimes maybe starting somebody else and allowing a guy like Kip to play later -- doesn't necessarily have to be a day off -- but especially against this guy (Chicago's Chris Sale), I just think it might make some sense."
The Indians are facing Sale for the third time this season. The left-hander leads the American League in ERA at 2.11 and is 1-0 against the Tribe this season. Sale is 3-0 with a 1.40 ERA in eight road starts this season but in his last two starts at Progressive Field is 0-2 with a 12.53 ERA.
AVILES UPDATE: Francona said that Mike Aviles is starting to feel better in coming back from concussion-related symptoms. Aviles was attempting to do some work in the training room before progressing to more activity.
