Fran Tarkenton disses Bucs QB Josh Freeman

By Andy Nesbitt, FOXSports.com NFL legend Fran Tarkenton doesn't think Bucs QB Josh Freeman is any good at quarterback. How do we know this? Mr. Tarkenton let his feelings known during an interview Tuesday on WDAE Radio in Tampa.

"He plays sometimes at a nice level," Tarkenton said. "I've watched him a lot. He just plays God awful. That's who you are ... It's just a player being able to play or not play. Josh Freeman has proven to me that he can't play."

That should make the QB feel better. Statistically speaking, Freeman has actually improved each season since being selected by the Bucs with the No. 17 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Last year he threw for a career best 4,065 yards and 27 touchdowns. Granted he's no Tom Brady, but God awful? This makes us wonder: Has Tarkenton ever seen Tim Tebow play? Questions? Comments?
